Really?

Has it really been four months since my last Flotsam post? Good grief, this has got to change. We've certainly seen lots of post-worthy sights in our many travels but the frantic pace has gotten the better of us I guess.

Some geographical perspective...We live in Newfield which is five miles south of Ithaca. According to some folks Ithaca is 15 square miles surrounded by reality. I beg to differ... Here's a little slice of reality we pass on the way to one of our regular auction houses. The owner of the house used to run a dusty cluttered antique shop in the downstairs. Then almost over night it morphed into a bonafide Sandford and Son style junk yard complete with tug boat for sale out in the driveway on a big old rusty trailer. I see he's now trying out a new line of work these days...

Enhancements

Ken and I spotted these at our favorite antique marketplace FOUND in Ithaca. Don't go looking for them at the shop though, we are now the proud owners of these lovelies.

Nice Legs

Spotted in the old industrial park behind Wegmans in Ithaca, NY
Ken's response to them, "Now that's bad". I must say, I have to agree.
In case you're wondering, it's a Par 3 Mini-Golf prop
They're located on the front lawn of this factory.
I didn't know widgets were this interesting...

God Bless American Beer

In Ledyard, NY a shrine to needful things...

Alternative Energy

Seen at auction last night in Candor, NY - a working General Electric meter made into a lamp. When you plug it in the dials turn. It sold for $35 - a bit too far above our "that's weird, let's get it just because" budget of $10.

Art

More fine art from our March 18th jaunt. We found this in Bainbridge, NY. The description on the tag reads "Nice Tits".
